LANDOWNER ROBERT WILL’S WELCOMING SPEECH FOR SOMERSET WIND POWER PROJECT DEDICATION
OCTOBER 24, 2001
On behalf of the landowners from Somerset County and Fayette County, I would like to welcome all of you to the wind farm dedication ceremony. Being a dairy farmer, I am always proud of the slogan, "Somerset County: The Land of Milk and Maple." Now I think we should add Windmills.
Somerset County has many nice dairy farms and croplands. We have the sweetest maple syrup and the most windmills of any county in Pennsylvania. We would hope that the windmills would generate the same success as the dairy industry and maple industry has brought to Somerset County.
Fayette County has coal, railroads, and the elegance of windmills. As they enter the twenty-first century, may they have success with clean energy electricity.
When Mr. Bill Moore and Mr. Sam Enfield talked about putting windmills on our land, we never would have imagined the great experience we have had this past summer. The arrival of the windmills and the construction of the windmills have brought us to know a group of nice, good working people from across America.
If you are approached by the company for windmills, please do not turn down the opportunity. They are a great group of people. They respect people and care for our land.
Thanks to everyone and God Bless America! |
