APPLICATION PROCESS
Apply Online – Click here to view our current job opportunities. You must apply online to be considered for a position. Human Resources does not accept unsolicited resumes by mail. For resume/CV writing best practices, click here.
Pre-Screening – If you are selected, Human Resources will contact you to schedule a phone interview between you and the Hiring Manager.
On-Site Interviews – If you are chosen for on-site interviews, you will be scheduled to come to the Corporate Headquarters in Houston, Texas to interview with several employees from different departments. If you are interviewing for a position in one of the regional offices, the interviews will be conducted at that location. After meeting at the regional office, you may be asked to travel to Houston for additional interviews. All travel arrangements are handled by Human Resources.
References – If you are selected, you will be asked to provide references. Human Resources will contact each of your references and collect feedback for the hiring manager. We typically only ask for professional references to give us a better scope of your background, prior work history and compatibility with prior employers. For certain positions, writing samples will be requested.
Background Check – Once your references have cleared, Horizon may extend an offer of employment. However, employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check, as well as a drug screen. The background check is comprised of a 5-point check, including employment history, education, credit, criminal and drug screening. The process generally takes 3-5 business days. We encourage you not to put in notice of your resignation to your current employer until you receive confirmation from Human Resources that you have successfully completed the background clearance. If you do not clear the background check, a Human Resources representative will contact you directly to confirm the results and to revoke the offer, if needed.
Equal Employment Opportunity – Horizon affords equal employment opportunity to all qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, disability, qualified veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation or any other impermissible criterion or circumstance. This means equal opportunity not only in regard to initial employment, compensation, promotion, transfer, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment, but also in regard to any other matter that affects the working environment of our people. The Company's commitment to equal opportunity employment applies to all persons involved in the operations of the Company and prohibits unlawful discrimination by any employee of the Company, including supervisors and co-workers.
To comply with applicable laws ensuring equal employment opportunities to qualified individuals with disabilities, the Company will make reasonable accommodations for the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability who is an applicant or an employee unless undue hardship would result. Any applicant or employee who requires an accommodation in order to perform the essential functions of the job should contact the Human Resources Department and request such an accommodation. The individual with the disability should specify what accommodation he or she needs to perform the job. |
