HORIZON NEWS: Zilkha Renewable Energy Changes Name to Horizon Wind Energy; Alec Dreyer CEO

Houston, Texas, August 25, 2005 – Zilkha Renewable Energy, one of the nation's leading wind energy development companies, announced today that it has changed its name to Horizon Wind Energy.

In addition, Horizon has announced that Alec G. Dreyer will start as its new Chief Executive Officer in September. Mr. Dreyer has extensive experience in the power sector having built an IPP subsidiary of a public company and having recently been responsible for a generation business which encompassed approximately 13,000 megawatts in over ten states. He brings to Horizon significant expertise in power plant development, commercial asset management, contract negotiations, and regulatory and governmental relations.

“Horizon has an enviable track record in wind energy, an important growth sector for the power industry,” Dreyer said. “It will be an honor to lead Horizon's strong team to the summit of the renewable power industry.”

Houston, Texas-based Horizon has a portfolio of nearly 4,000 megawatts in various stages of development in a dozen states. Goldman Sachs purchased the company, formerly owned by the father-and-son team of Selim and Michael Zilkha, in June 2005.
