MILL RUN WIND POWER PROJECT, PENNSYLVANIA

Mill Run Wind Power Project, a 15 MW wind farm located in eastern Fayette County, Pennsylvania, features open pasture land on a ridge overlooking Springfield and Stuart Townships. Horizon and Atlantic Renewable Energy (now Iberdrola) partnered to build the project in 2001. Located in the fourth largest coal-producing state, Mill Run, along with our Somerset and Meyersdale projects, represents the beauty of emission-free electricity generation. Fayette County has a great wind resource, plentiful access to transmission, and a very supportive community.

The 10 1.5 MW Enron Wind TZ turbines spin on hill-top pastures. On roughly 1000 acres, these ten turbines rise above the land on 210-foot-tall towers, with a rotor diameter of 231 feet.

Commercial and residential customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland buy Mill Run's wind energy.
