Pioneer Prairie II Wind Farm is located in Mitchell County, Iowa. With 62 Vestas V82 1.65 MW turbines, the wind farm has an installed capacity of 102.3 MW - enough to power 28,000 Iowa homes with clean energy each year. Construction began in the summer of 2008, and the wind farm achieved commercial operation in January 2009. AmerenUE purchases the clean renewable energy generated at the wind farm.
