Wheat Field Wind FarmWheat Field Wind Farm, which is approximately five miles away from Horizon Wind Energy’s Rattlesnake Road Wind Farm in Oregon on nearly 8,500 acres of cultivated wheat fields, began construction in 2008 and achieved commercial operation in April 2009. With 46 Suzlon S88 2.1 MW turbines, the wind farm has an installed capacity of 97 MW - enough to power approximately 30,000 Northwest homes each year. Public Utility District No. 1 of Snohomish County, Washington purchases the clean, renewable energy generated by the wind farm.
